DVD Review: 'Snowmageddon'

Is the world ready for...an evil snow globe? We’re gonna find out with a review of the new to DVD release "Snowmageddon" out now from Anchor Bay Home Entertainment. The ball and all its mayhem roll below.

Rating: PG-13
Runtime: 89 minutes

The Flick: The premise of this thing is as fromage ridden as they get, but damned if "Snowmageddon" didn’t entertain me. A snow globe that has the exact model of the town inside and when key turned creates severe disasters for real? Sounds like a ball right out of the Tall Man’s collection, but there’s also a cute small town vibe that keeps the flick from rolling completely out the window. More a supernatural thriller then a disaster movie, there are decent effects (watch out for those flying fireballs!), a know-it-all shopkeeper and even a little hot Laura Harris action to boot. (Okay she’s a mom in this, but she’s a hot mama!) Maybe the ending does leave a bit to be desired, but for mid Sunday fluff fare I say let it snow.
Best Feature: No features – I demand some Laura Harris making angels in the snow footage!
Best Hidden Gem: Again, some may find the feisty daughter fetching, but for those of us who remember "The Faculty" Harris is our queen.
Worth the Moola: Mix roger Corman with the family channel and what do you get? "Snowmageddon!"
