The Flick: I have a friend who used to swear by this non-Michael Myers Halloween outing and frankly I never understood why.  With enough fromage to make even an obscure goat cheese lover take pause, "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" was always the bastard child of the franchise.  But over time the rough edges of the film have fallen by the wayside and with this new five-star edition I finally get what all the fuss is about.  The film itself is a B-movie loving tribute to one of my favorite underrated actors Tom “Night of the Creeps” Atkins (he even scores in this one!), not to mention has some seminal bad guy action in the form of Dan “behave yourselves!” O’Herlihy and a seriously demented story that only a genre geek would get pleasure out of.  (Kids + bad masks while watching TV = tot death!)  Add to that those gamey mask designs, an unforgettably annoying Silver Shamrock jingle and an iconic ending fitting of a Body Snatchers flick and you’ve got a film only a mother could love.  (Fortunately mine does!)

Best Feature: Wow – that’s like asking which of my children is the best.  This five-star features edition covers everything and has everything.  From two must-listen 'Commentaries,' one with the ever-candid Director Tommy Lee Wallace and the other a career look back with Tom Atkins to the sassy featurette 'Horror’s Hallowed Grounds' that looks at the locations now (a fight almost breaks out for goodness sake!) this one has got you completely covered.  But the best of the bunch is the making of doc titled 'Stand Alone' that has some dead honest chat with EVERYONE involved who all admit that that stepping out the Michael Myers mold was a probably a mistake.  (Now that’s doc with nuts!)

Best Hidden Gem: The tasty collectable cover with some retro-style artwork is truly inspiring and looks best on a movie geek shelf.  (Even for Halloween III this one looks amazing!)

Worth the Moola: From cover to coverage this edition, whether you’re a die-hard fan of the flick or not, this is why special editions were invented – all others take heed!  (You win Kevin, you win!)
