This Friday’s episode of Who Do You Think You Are? features Rob Lowe and his journey to discover his ancestors. Since his family tree on Geni is already connected to the World Family Tree, we thought it would be fun to see how he was related to some of his celebrity pals!

Rob currently stars in the critically acclaimed comedy Parks and Recreation as city manager Chris Traeger. Did you know he is also related to a couple of his co-stars? That’s right, Ms. Leslie Knope herself, Amy Poehler, is Rob Lowe’s 19th cousin!

He is also related to actress Rashida Jones, who plays Anne Perkins, his sometimes love-interest on the show. Rashida is Rob Lowe’s 18th cousin once removed! And like her cousin Rob, Rashida will be featured in next week’s all-new episode of Who Do You Think You Are?

Before he got his big break in Hollywood, Rob attended Santa Monica High School with fellow Brat Packer Emilio Estevez and the always controversial Charlie Sheen. Back during his partying days, Rob and Charlie spent a great deal of time together. No wonder they got a long so well – they’re family! Did you know that Charlie Sheen is Rob Lowe’s 16th cousin once removed? Coincidentally, Charlie and Emilio’s father, actor Martin Sheen, was featured in Who Do You Think You Are?‘s first episode this season.

But perhaps one of his closest celebrity relatives is fellow Who Do You Think You Are? participant Helen Hunt. It turns out Helen Hunt is Rob Lowe’s 6th cousin!

Are you related to Rob Lowe and his celebrity cousins? Check out his family tree and tell us how you’re related in the comments below!
