Sorry, ladies. This Edward Cullen thing is all an act. Robert Pattinson claims he's not a romantic in real life. "I haven't done that many romantic things in my life," he said in a press conference, to the silent sounds of hearts breaking.

In the films, the vampire Edward protects his beloved Bella. Even though she wants to turn immortal for him, he'd prefer her to have a long, normal human life. Perhaps the closest he came to real life romance was a teenage incident, a trauma which might give insight into his swearing off of romance.

"I put a flower in someone's locker when I was 15 years old. This girl, called Maria. Maybe I was 14. She actually thought it was from someone else, and the other guy claimed it as well, which was just great."

Even though he is a musician, Pattinson has never used it to serenade a sweetheart. "Oh, no! I don't think that would ever be romantic. You need to have so much balls to do that. Jesus Christ! I actually can't think of a single romantic thing I've ever done. That's terrible."

At least you can see him be romantic in New Moon this Friday.
