Brandon Routh Finds A New Superhero
"We have a movie called Dead of Night which starts shooting in April with Brandon Routh," Amritraj said. "Kevin Munroe who did Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [TMNT] is directing it. That shoots in New Orleans."
For those unfamiliar with Dylan Dog, producer Aiello described the premise with references to other famous pop culture phenomena.
"Brandon's character is like a Jack Gittes from Chinatown who's a detective, private investigator for the underworld," Aiello added. "He is investigating werewolves, zombies and vampires, in the spirit of Lost Boys so we're not confused [with Underworld.]"
So far Routh is the only actor attached to the film. Amritraj said that he will look like the comic's artwork, including the distinct red shirt, black jacket and jeans that are the character's only costume. "We're going to be pretty, pretty close," Amritraj said. "It's going to have that look to it."
Sclavi's comic book was previously the inspiration for the 1994 film Dellamorte Dellamore starring Rupert Everett.
