Ed Sheeran earned $2 million in the last year.
The 22-year-old singer - who shot to fame in 2011 with hits 'The A Team' and 'Lego House' - has made more than $3.6 million from his business Ed Sheeran Limited since 2011, including profits of $266,000 within the past 12 months, according to documents filed at the UK's Companies House.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Ed works extremely hard.
"He's grafted 24/7 ever since his first hit single. He barely has any time off because he's either on tour, writing his follow-up album or making tracks for the likes of One Direction. So the money just comes rolling in."
As well as writing his own hits, Ed has penned tracks for boy band One Direction, including their single 'Little Things', which will prove lucrative when the royalty cheques come in.
Meanwhile, 'Give Me Love' hitmaker Ed - who recently relocated to Tennessee after spending the last year touring the US with Taylor Swift - is set to release the follow-up to his debut album '+', and has been planning well into the future, at least as far as album titles are concerned.
He has previously said: "I've had the four titles for the next four albums in my mind for a while, so they'll come out eventually."
