Fred Armisen recruited to lead band for Seth Meyers' talk show
Comedian Fred Armisen has been recruited by his former Saturday Night Live co-star Seth Meyers to lead the band for his upcoming Late Night With Seth Meyers talk show.
Meyers will make his debut as a chat show host on 24 February (14), and he's bringing along a familiar face when the series debuts in the U.S.
Armisen, who left the sketch comedy show in 2013 after 11 seasons, will curate and lead the band, Meyers announced on his Twitter.com page Monday (10Feb14).
The 8G Band will be named after the studio where Meyers will film his show at New York City's iconic Rockefeller Center.
Meyers is taking over the late night position from another SNL alum, Jimmy Fallon, who replaces Jay Leno as the host of The Tonight Show host on 17 February (14).
