Meryl Streep has established two scholarships at a top Massachusetts university to help students studying English.
The actress is planning a visit to the UMass Lowell campus next month (Feb14) to officially launch the new grants as part of the school's Chancellor's Speaker Series.
The scholarships will be endowed with all net proceeds from the discussion, which is expected to raise more than $100,000 (£62,500).
The Meryl Streep Endowed Scholarship Fund will benefit English majors.
She's not the only celebrity linked to scholarships at Lowell - author Stephen King has also established one.
