Shia Labeouf has apologised to funnyman Jim Carrey after making remarks about his parenting skills on Twitter.com.
Responding to a joke Carrey made at his expense during the Golden Globes, LaBeouf went a little too far on Monday (13Jan14).
He wrote, "At least I don't get arrested for indecency on major LA highways! Or abandon love child's (sic)."
He quickly removed that tweet and wrote, "Jim Carrey states that he is deeply involved in his daughter's life - I accept that, regret tweet on the matter. Apologies to both parents."
Carrey has yet to comment on LaBeouf's remarks and apology, but his ex-girlfriend Jenny McCarthy has defended him, insisting the Transformers star overstepped the mark.
During her daytime show The View on Tuesday (14Jan14), the actress and TV personality turned on LaBeouf, stating, "You can attack myself, but don't bring my children into it. And I'm sure it's the same for Jim.
"Jim and I have become friends now since our break-up. We dated for five years and I got to know his daughter, Jane, who is a lovely, lovely girl. It's completely uncalled for and wrong. Jim is a great father. He loves Jane more than anything in the world."
