Master P helping to pay for Kentucky woman's funeral
Hip-hop mogul Master P is covering the costs of a funeral for a mother of three who was shot and killed in Louisville, Kentucky, because the tragedy reminds him of his brother's brutal slaying years ago.
The rapper has been moved to help the family of Andrea Arnold, whose body was discovered in an alley on 30 November (13).
He reveals news of the crime brought back painful memories of the death of his younger sibling, Kevin Miller, who was robbed and murdered by a drug addict early on in Master P's career.
He has also appealed to locals in Louisville to help police find Arnold's killer before the Christmas holiday to give her family some peace of mind.
He says, "I'm begging the community to come together and find out who did this... That would be the biggest Christmas gift we could give to her (Arnold's daughter) and her other siblings."
Master P is also planning to host a benefit gig at the city's The Gillespie venue this weekend (15Dec13) to raise money for toys and other gifts for children who have lost their parents to violence, reports AllHipHop.com.
The veteran musician isn't the only star to share the wealth during the holiday season - fellow rapper The Game has made it his mission to give away $1 million (£667,000) to worthy causes by Christmas, and recently brought Los Angeles' gang leaders together in a bid to help pay for the funeral of a seven-year-old boy killed in a shoot-out.
