Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian is standing by allegations her former stepmother married her father for his money, insisting her cancer-stricken dad was so ill and could barely stand at the ceremony.
Khloe, her siblings Kim, Kourtney and Rob, and their mother Kris Jenner have all been named in a defamation lawsuit filed by Robert Kardashian's widow Ellen Pearson in July (13), amid allegations the famous family had badmouthed her on their Keeping Up With the Kardashians show by claiming she had only been after the late attorney's riches.
Pearson also alleges they attempted to ensnare her for a plot line on the reality programme by having a private investigator offer up information about the Kardashians to their ex-stepmum, in order to make her look like a villain - but she refused to take the bait.
The incidents occurred after the famous family launched legal action against Pearson over the publication of her husband's journals last year (12) - property the socialites claimed belonged to them.
However, Khloe insists she was only telling the truth when she suggested Pearson was a gold digger, because her father had been so ill as he battled stage four esophageal cancer, they had to conduct the 2003 wedding in their living room.
In her court declaration, obtained by TMZ.com, Khloe claims Kardashian Sr.'s mental state had been "compromised" due to the disease, and she adds, "Several ceremony guests assisted my father from his bedroom to the couch and helped to sit him up straight for the ceremony, which took place at my father's couch."
