Beatles film director to be honoured in Los Angeles
Richard Lester, the man behind the Beatles' film success, is to receive a career achievement award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.
The 81 year old, who directed A Hard Day's Night and Help!, will be saluted at a gala in Los Angeles in January (14).
Lester also directed the late Christopher Reeve in Superman II and III, and his final film was Paul McCartney's 1991 concert movie Get Back.
Previous LAFCA career achievement award winners include director Paul Mazursky, Doris Day and Jean-Paul Belmondo.
