Matt Sorum Horrified By Dolphin Hunt
Former Guns N' Roses star Matt Sorum has jetted off to Japan to witness the annual dolphin kill in Tajii and protest the barbaric practice of spearing the creatures after they're herded into a fishing cove.
The drummer joined conservationist Ric O'Barry, who featured in Academy Award-winning 2009 film The Cove, and other activists in a bid to persuade local fishermen from giving up their traditional cull.
Sorum tells Billboard.com, "Like a bad nightmare, I'm watching it almost like a twilight zone, surreal, looking into my eyes in complete disbelief - what's going on in front of me."
The rock star is hoping to stage a concert in Tokyo to promote the message of those trying to stop the dolphin hunt.
