Jessica Simpson's Fashion Star axed
Jessica Simpson and Nicole Richie's U.S. reality show Fashion Star has been cancelled after two seasons due to low ratings.
The style competition featured the pair as mentors, alongside menswear guru John Varvatos, giving 12 aspiring designers the chance to win a multi-million dollar contract and launch their line in America's largest retail stores, including Macy's and Saks Fifth Avenue.
The TV programme premiered to strong viewing figures last year (12), but its recent second season failed to capture audiences and now bosses at NBC, the network which aired the show, have confirmed it's been axed.
Supermodel Elle Macpherson served as host and an executive producer during its 2012 debut, but was replaced as presenter by Louise Roe, who took over the job earlier this year (13).
