British monarch Queen Elizabeth II met her new great-grandson for the first time on Wednesday, two days after Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge gave birth in London.
The Duchess and her husband Prince William became first-time parents on Monday when they welcomed a little boy, and the new mother was able to take her son home to Kensington Palace on Tuesday evening.
The Queen has now made an official visit to meet the baby at the palace ahead of her planned trip to Scotland on Friday.
A spokesperson for the royal previously revealed the monarch was "delighted at the news" of the tot's birth.
The Queen's visit comes as bookmakers experience a surge in bets on the new prince's name, which will be announced in due course.
George is currently clear favourite ahead of other traditional names including James, Alexander and Arthur.
