John Malkovich's first clothing line almost didn't make it to stores
Actor John Malkovich's first clothing line was almost a disaster before it even hit stores after his collection was confiscated by U.S. customs officials.
The Being John Malkovich star has managed to establish himself as a designer outside of his movie career, but admits he's far from a good businessman and reveals he ran into trouble as he brought pieces from his original range, Uncle Kimono, back to his native America.
He tells Details magazine, "I brought my first fall/winter line to New York and it was confiscated by U.S. Customs. They asked, 'What is the value of this?' I said, 'I'm not so good with existential questions.'"
Uncle Kimono folded in 2007 and he has launched his new label, Technobohemia, in 2010.
