Fan Bingbing braves downpour to receive award at Cannes
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing was the toast of the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (18May13) as she was named The Hollywood Reporter's International Artist of the Year.
The star of X-Men: Days of Future Past didn't let a downpour keep her from attending a special cocktail party thrown in her honour during the French coastal town's annual festival.
Bingbing mingled with stars including actress Paz Vega and Bond girl Naomie Harris before accepting the prestigious prize, which recognises an up-and-coming "global celebrity whose work has the power to affect entertainment around the world".
She was loaned a Valentino gown to wear for her big evening, and told The Hollywood Reporter, "I feel like Cinderella tonight. It's every girl's dream to wear these designer clothes. But even though I love fashion, the most important thing to me is my acting career."
