Bret Michaels donates toys to U.S. hospital
Rocker Bret Michaels showed off his generous side when he stopped by an Arizona hospital on Wednesday (15May13) to deliver books and toys to a family room at the medical facility.
The Poison frontman funded the Bret Michaels Hospitality and Music Room at The Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix as a thank you after staff at the hospital saved his life following a brain haemorrhage in 2010.
The room, designed to give families a break while loved-ones are receiving treatment, was opened by Michaels in 2012 and the musician makes sure it is always well stocked.
Michaels and his two daughters, Raine, 13 and eight-year-old Jorja, donated a selection of children's books and toys to the facility and the rocker later took to his website to post snaps of his trip, writing, "After coming home from being on the road, it was awesome to continue giving by making a trip to the Bret Michaels’ Hospitality and Music Room at St. Joseph’s to deliver some toys and books that Raine, Jorja and I collected."
