2011 Top Ten Music Picks
2011 has provided interesting mix of music releases, in many genres, worthy of note. Here are a few of our favorites here below. Rant, rave, and just let us know your music picks of this year.
Adele - 21
The sophomore release 21, by British singer Adele, has left a rather nice "fire starting" in many hearts in 2011. The singer's powerful vocal instrument are showcased on released singles "Rolling In The Deep," "Someone Like You," and "Set Fire To The Rain."
LMFAO - Sorry For Party Rocking
Music duo, stage named members Redfoo and Sky Blu, mixes comedy, a touch of bravado, and Dance music, on sophomore music release Sorry For Party Rocking. The "party" has shuffled hit singles like "Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy & I Know It" bringing success as one of the biggest albums of 2011.
The Band Perry - Self Titled
New Country music family music act, The Band Perry, brought much attention to their self-titled debut in 2011 featuring a stark themed song about death called "If I Die Young."
IL Volo - Self - Titled
New Tween Classical music trio, IL Volo, has made history with their "hard to believe" young voices introduced to the world on their self-titled debut. The group's release has made Classical music "pop"ular in 2011 with standards such as " O Sole Mio" and "Notte Stellata."
Foster The People - Torches
Catchy melodies, memorable lyrics, and the sense that new band Foster The People had a real good time recording their Torches debut this year, are all the markers to making a buzz in Alternative music. "Pumped Up Kicks" and "Helena Beat" are two main singles off the release that made the band hip in 2011.
Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday
Hip Hop act Nicki Minaj impressed enough with her verses and flow in 2011 to make an impact with debut music release Pink Friday. The release features tracks such as "Moment 4 Life," "Fly," "Did It On'Em," and "Roman's Revenge."
Wasting Light - Foo Fighters
The Foo Fighters released the Wasting Light music title, filled with new eclectic and musical nuances, enough to keep interest in Rock music alive this year.
The Lonely Island - Turtleneck & Chain
The Lonely Island, with comedic members Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorman Taccone, brought Hip Hop, Pop, music, and comedy to life on sophomore release Turtleneck & Chain.
Rihanna - Loud
Singer Rihanna made herself heard in 2011 with music release Loud. The singer's fifth studio, features uptempo hits, such as "S&M" and "Only Girl (In The World)," which fits in todays current Dance Pop movement.
Pitbull - Planet Pit
Rapper Pitbull has become a well known name this year, on the airwaves and dance floors, by mixing Hip Hop, Dance, and Latin music. With Dance driven hits, such as "Give Me Everything ft. Ne-Yo," "Rain Over Me ft. Marc Anthony," and "International Love ft. Chris Brown," the entertainer has taken the music world by storm.
