Anna Paquin is celebrating LGBT Pride Month and calling for marriage equality on Twitter.
After promoting the Soccer Aid celebrity match to raise money for UNICEF, which her husband Stephen Moyer took part in, Paquin turned to reminding everyone June is LGBT Pride Month, sharing several reposts and offering her own thoughts.
"Proud to be a happily married bisexual mother. Marriage is about love not gender,” Paquin wrote before promoting LGBT causes, “@eqca @NOH8Campaign @ItGetsBetter."
Paquin came out as bisexual in 2010, months before her marriage to True Blood co-star Moyer, in a PSA for True Color Fund's "Give a Damn" campaign. "I'm bisexual, and I give a damn," she said in the piece promoting gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender equality.
Paquin told Zooey magazine in 2012 that while she's very private, there were too many social issues for the LGBT community for her not to show solidarity. "I’m not someone who endlessly talks about her personal life for no reason, but obviously, as someone who identifies as bisexual, those are issues I really care about."
