Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's fourth album has made music history. In the first week of its release, her album Red has sold 1.2 million copies - the most for the first week of an album's release since 2002.

Swift is also the first woman to have two albums the broke the 1 million mark in their first weeks; her third album Speak Now also performed the feat, according to the Associated Press.

To better understand the enormity of her sales numbers: She quadrupled the sales of Justin Bieber's over-hyped Believe album in its first week.

Eminem's 2002 release The Eminem Show was the last album to sell as many in the first week.
