On Friday, Jon Hamm bashed socialites Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian for making stupidity "fashionable." After what we assume was a busy weekend, Kim has fired back at the Mad Men star via Twitter!
In an Elle UK interview, Hamm followed in the footsteps of Daniel Craig and called Kim "a f*cking idiot."
He is quoted as saying, "We're at a place where the idea of being 'elite' is somehow considered a negative. Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated. Being a f*cking idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you're rewarded significantly. It's celebrated. It doesn't make sense to me."
Today, Kim Kardashian took to her Twitter feed and posted the following: "I just heard about the comment Jon Hamm made about me in an interview. I respect Jon and I am a firm believer that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and that not everyone takes the same path in life. We're all working hard and we all have to respect one another. Calling someone who runs their own businesses, is a part of a successful TV show, produces, writes, designs, and creates, 'stupid,' is in my opinion careless."
We have to commend Kim for making it classy. What do you think? Does Jon's statement ring true (perhaps the parts outside of the Kardashian bashing)? Or was he wrong?
