After being plagued by re-writes and casting problems, Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe's latest historical epic is to open the legendary Cannes Film Festival.
Robin Hood has certainly had its problems - at one point, someone floated the idea of Russell Crowe playing both the Sheriff of Nottingham and the titular character. Injuries to both actors and set workers have also plagued the production.
Still, the action-packed film is hoping to repeat the success of Scott and Crowe's Gladiator. That film picked up five Academy Awards despite being released in May - the same month Robin Hood hits theaters this year.
