Boy George Sees Jail Time As Positive Experience
Boy George came away from prison with new friends and a chance to finally relax and read a good book.
He was sentenced for 15 months after being convicted of false imprisonment and assault. He was released after four months and put on home detention curfew - complete with ankle monitor - for 90 days.
Boy George says that he met several people in jail that he still keeps in touch with, including a few that have since been released. He also turned his jail cell into a "library" where he read as many books as possible.
He also thanked his supporters: "I got thousands and thousands of letters from people I don't know, I always say thank God for strangers."
