When she was away from Rookie Blue, Enuka crossed over to our second-favorite Canadian cop show, Motive, in a vastly different role.  She appears in the second-to-last episode of season two, "Kiss of Death," playing  - of all things - a murder mystery writer. Naturally, we had to ask her about crashing someone else's cop show.

(SPOILER ALERT - If you don't want to know anything about her guest appearance on Motive, stop reading now.)

"That was really fun," she enthused. "I shot that last year and it was a joy. It's a small part, so blink and you'll miss me, but the cool thing is that particular episode revolves around my character, because I'm the victim...You're dead, but you're never really gone.

As it turns out, she has quite a few connections to Motive. "Years ago, I did a pilot with Kristin Lehman out in Los Angeles, so we've been friends since then, and of course Louis [Ferreira] played a part on our show last year," she continued. "I had fun working with Lauren Holly; Lauren Holly played Gail and Steve's mom on Rookie Blue."

How surreal was it for her to go from homicide investigator to homicide victim? "I'll tell you, it was fun being on the other side," she said. "It was fun being the victim. And it was a very different role for me. She wasn't a completely innocent character either, so that was the most fun. That was kind of why I gravitated toward the role."

Another focus for Enuka has been working on her writing career; when we spoke to her last season, she was hanging out in the Rookie Blue writers' room, and this season wrote and directed the fourth of the show's "Stakeout" webisodes, which we've included at the bottom of this article so you can see just how great she is behind the scenes, too.

"It was exciting. I got to direct Greg [Smith] and Ben [Bass]," she enthused, adding that she's still talking to the writers about possibly writing a full TV episode for the show.

Until that happens (and it really should), she's enjoying what's going on in front of the camera. "We see where Traci's going, we see where Steve and Traci are headed," she told us, "and we've got another madcap season."

Rookie Blue continues its fifth season tonight at 9 PM ET/PT on ABC; if you missed last week's season premiere, you can click here. For more on Enuka, be sure you're following her on Twitter (@EnukaOkuma).
