'Impractical Jokers' Scorecard: 'Enter The Dragons'
Challenge #2: Careless Whispers
They're supposed to be whispering to random people in a grocery store, but instead the guys take a moment to comment on Sal's shirt and then his hair. Sal nearly gives someone a heart attack when he sneaks up behind him and tells him "Let's be real about Linda," and follows that up by scaring a senior citizen. Joe strikes out as well. Murr thinks wearing a salmon-colored shirt will keep him from getting arrested, and when the guys protest his choice of words, a random passerby overhears and chimes in that the shirt is, in fact, salmon-colored. Joe believes Q might be more likely to get maced. "You are a crushed man standing alone in a supermarket!" Murr laughs, while Q facepalms. But he can celebrate a moment later, because he's the only Joker to pull this one off.
Losers: Sal, Joe and Murr
Challenge #3: Animal Antics
Q gets to hold a penguin as the Jokers take their customer service survey shtick - previously seen at Six Flags - to the zoo in a Joker vs. Joker challenge that pits Sal against Joe (Murr and Q are not shown). Sal bats leadoff, asking a woman what she thinks of all the animals eventually being made into crackers, but balking at inquiring if a gentleman would like to donate his wife to the petting zoo. Joe hesitates when it comes to finding out if there's an animal that a passerby would like to dry hump; at least she takes it with a laugh.
Losers: Joe and Sal
The Punishment: They're forced to be the opening act for Imagine Dragons in front of 14,000 folks at Jones Beach. What might be some people's dream is a nightmare for these guys, who have no musical training or inclination whatsoever. With Joe on drums, Sal taking guitar and vocals, and both of them looking like rejects from the 1980's, it's a trainwreck from note one. Sal is forced to dedicate the performance to the people of Pittsburgh, and another song is a call-back to the time he tried to teach German (in "Out of TP"): it's called "Shut Your Face, Grandma." Even Imagine Dragons' Dan Reynolds gets involved, stealing the mic from Murr and Q to suggest a few lines.
Give yourself bonus points if you noticed the moniker of Sal and Joe's (lack of a) band - Senora Lanza, which is the name of the high school Spanish teacher that Murr admitted to having a crush on during his now-infamous lie detector test in "The Truth Hurts."
Watch below for a clip of Sal having some serious (and perfectly understandable) stage fright.
