'The Voice': Team Adam's Adanna Duru on Getting Montaged...Twice
Adanna Duru, who was a member of Team Adam on Season 3 of The Voice, recently spoke about what it was like for her to be montaged on the show...twice.
Adanna's blind audition, in which her rendition of Lady Gaga's "The Edge of Glory" earned her a spot on Adam Levine's roster, was one of the segments edited into a montage of auditions when The Voice aired. In the next phase of competition, her battle round against Michelle Brooks-Thompson was also edited down for broadcast.
They sang "Crazy In Love" and Michelle ultimately won the battle, leading to Adanna's exit from the competition.
Of the editing, Adanna said, "I had absolutely no idea. They just said ‘There’s a possibility some of you guys are going to be montaged.’ That was extremely disappointing."
However, the young singer added that her appearance on the show has still opened doors for her. "I have gotten a lot of exposure since," she said. "I’ve gotten a lot more gigs and such. I was expecting to get more exposure than what I got, but what I did get was cool. It’s a lot easier for me to book gigs and I’m getting a lot more respect."
