Historically, hip-hop has no shortage of raunchiness. For years, hip-hop artists have pushed the boundaries, never being shy about spitting about a 'three-letter word’ – sex, that is. No need to blush yet – that’s what the list of 20 of the dirtiest rap songs is for! The list doesn't include every filthy rap track, but there's definitely a wealth featured in no particular order.
"Work It" is a crowning achievement for the critically acclaimed Missy Elliott. As addictive and revered as it is, "Work It" is equally risqué, particularly when Elliott references anatomy. "If you got a big [elephant sound], let me search you..." Missy kept it 100.
#2 Snoop Doggfeaturing Pharrell Williams, "Drop it Like it’s Hot"
fromR&G: Rhythm & Gangsta (2004)
Snoop Dogg returned to the top with inescapable single "Drop it Like It’s Hot." "Hot" wasn’t innocent, referencing hooking up ("See I specialize in making all the girls get naked"), gangs ("I keep a blue flag hanging out my backside…"), and weed ("...I roll the best weed cause I got it going on"). Geez Louise!
"I'm 'bout to shed some light, 'cause each and every night / you gotta do it right…" They don't call Ludacris that for nothing! Much of his career has centered on raunchiness. "Splash Waterfalls" was no different, filled with ludicrous sexual references. Call it a Luda sex ed course…
It doesn't get much raunchier than "Pop That." Combine tasteless references to sex, clubbing, and drugs, and a truly nasty rap anthem is born. Subtlety plays no part in French Montana's script, only "popping." Rick Ross and Lil Wayne win the prize for most shameful, though French and Drake are "in it to win it" too.
Long before "Pop That" was "Play," the biggest hit of David Banner's career. The Mississippi MC outdid himself on "Play," including orgasmic sounds to match the lascivious script. More shocking, however are Banner's libidinous rhymes.
50 Cent was a 'rap god' when innuendo-filled single "Candy Shop" topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine weeks. Risqué lyrics like "I'll let you lick the lollipop" and "soon as I come through the door, she kept pulling on my zipper" show where 50's mind was.
