Zooey DeschanelZooey Deschanel is smarter than you. She's also sassier, wittier and hotter. It's the combination of these and other factors that imbue her acerbic performances with an edgy sexiness. And yet she never loses the sweetness that makes her so approachable.

Zooey Deschanel is, quite simply, bewitching. This is by no means an original thought; there isn't an interview, review or consideration of the lady that doesn't invoke her turquoise eyes, milky skin and jet-black hair.

Even in mainstream fare such as Failure to Launch, she's the sardonic edge that keeps the film from drowning in its own saccharinity. Her deadpan delivery pulls off lines like, "From a fiduciary standpoint, would you say that you had an orgasm?"

Deschanel is no glamorpuss, though she's often compared to starlets of a bygone Hollywood era. In fact, her roles as smalltown girls in films like The Good Girl and All the Real Girls have exhibited a notable lack of vanity.

(500) Days of Summer reunites Deschanel with Manic costar Joseph Gordon Levitt. Her character doesn't believe in love. And yet, she makes you want to believe that it's better to love her and then lose her than never get the chance to try and change her mind. This film is surely to bring out the best of Zooey Deschanel. It captures her enthralling charm and sweet retro fashion sense.

To be stuck in an elevator with Zooey Deschanel, her serenading you with one of your favorite songs. You'd never want to reach your floor.
