It’s gotta run in the family! In late May, Ron Howard teamed up with Canon to create their new endeavor Project Imagin8ion, where users can submit photos that Ron will choose from to inspire his newest short film. 

This week, Ron announced that he will be the executive producer for the film, and his daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, will be directing.  This is the first time the father/daughter tandem has paired up for any project.

We all know what Ron Howard’s resume looks like, but his daughter is giving her old man a run for his money. 

Bryce has continued to shine in the Hollywood spotlight, not just as a star, but as a respected creator of great works.  This project will only add to the growing reputation this young star is creating for herself. 

When asked about working with her dad, Bryce resounded “I’m over the moon to not only direct this film but to work with my father, a true mentor and my personal hero.” 

This project is the first time a Hollywood film has been based solely on user generated content.  This innovative idea, paired with the inventive and creative team of the Howards, has created much buzz around the internet community.

The final product for this film is still uncertain as concept development will not begin until all photos are chosen.  It’s likely that we will hear more about what these two are working on as the release date for Project Imagin8ion approaches.
