Feed Your Zombie Hunger During 'The Walking Dead' Hiatus

April 28th, 2013 1:30pm EDT
The Walking Dead
Sure, having Mad Men back on Sunday nights has been pretty great, but there’s still a ton of folks out there missing The Walking Dead — which won’t be back until likely October.

If you’re one of those fans missing Daryl, Rick and everyone else, here’s a couple of ways to feed your zombie hunger.

Play a game based on the comic or the show.

I called it 2012’s best video game and now you can find out why. Telltale’s game, The Walking Dead, is based on the comics, so you won’t see Daryl or anything else from the TV show, but it’s hands down one of the greatest games ever made.

Or, you c...

Interview Dave Fennoy: The Voice Of Lee Everett From Telltale’s 'The Walking Dead'

April 23rd, 2013 10:30am EDT
Dave Fennoy
It’s no secret that since finishing the incredible The Walking Dead game from Telltale last year, I’ve been dying to interview some of the phenomenal voice actors that brought life to the cherished characters in the game. Recently, I had the opportunity to finally speak via e-mail with the voice of main protagonist Lee, Dave Fennoy.

(You may also know him as the voice of Hulu.)

Spoilers ahead if you didn’t finish the five episode series.

Here’s what we discussed:

How did you first get cast in the role of voice Lee for The Walking Dead game?

I auditioned for the part of Lee Everett... a...

Noah Emmerich On Playing FBI Agent Stan Beeman On 'The Americans'

April 17th, 2013 10:30am EDT
Noah Emmerich
While the male and female leads of FX’s The Americans are KGB agents, you can’t help but root for them.

Luckily there is one “real” American worth rooting for on the show: next door neighbor and FBI Agent Stan Beeman.

Stan’s portrayer Noah Emmerich recently participated in a conference call with reporters. Here are the highlights. (Spoilers if you aren’t all caught up with the show.)

On how much research he did to prepare for playing an FBI Agent. “I spoke to a couple of ex-FBI agents, one of whom had been in counterintelligence, one of them had just been with the bureau in a more domest...

'Veep' Season 2 Preview: Great Cast, Incredible Guest But Needs Writing Support

April 14th, 2013 10:00am EDT
Veep
Parks and Recreation is a show that benefits from binge viewing, especially in seasons one and two, when you see the quality shoot up spectacularly. I was hoping for the same with HBO’s Veep, which has its second season premiere tonight, which like Parks and Recreation has assembled one of the best comedy ensembles in all of television.

Alas, if anything, I think I laughed at Veep less in its first four episodes than I did all of last season when I found the show watchable, but not always enjoyable.

When the season opens, Vice President Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is on a bit of a ...

Gena Lee Nolin on Creating 'Thyroid Sexy,' Her Upcoming Book And Possible 'Baywatch' Kickstarter

April 5th, 2013 1:30pm EDT
Gena Lee Nolin
You’ve probably heard the name Gena Lee Nolin—but how you heard, is likely to vary from person to person. Maybe you saw her on The Price is Right or Baywatch (like me) in the 1990s.

But if you had only heard her name in the last few years, you might know her solely for her activism work after she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism. Nolin now campaigns for regular thyroid gland checks and blood tests after the diagnosis helped her change her lifestyle and tackle the disease.

She even created a program called Thyroid Sexy to help others afflicted with the disease feel better abou...

Soundfreaq Sound Kick [REVIEW]: It’s Another Bluetooth Speaker, But That’s Not Why I Love It

April 5th, 2013 10:30am EDT
Soundfreaq Sound Kick
It’s getting harder and harder to review Bluetooth speakers. If it works well… what else is there to say?

I’m definitely not enough of an audio nut to be able to do really strong benchmarking and as long as the battery lasts more than five hours, I’ll be pretty satisfied.

But recently, I turned to a Bluetooth speaker I had in my apartment for review for a precisely unintended purpose.

I decided to take an old computer monitor I had and set it up on the back part of my kitchen counter. I hooked up a Roku box so I could watch old movies and TV shows I enjoy while cooking. I typically used ...

Sonic-connect 2 [REVIEW]: A Desk Gadget Alert System for New E-mails and IMs

April 4th, 2013 10:30am EDT
Sonic-connect 2
Like many people, my iPhone lives on my bed when I’m watching TV. In other words, when I’m away from my desk and not checking emails. It’ll vibrate and light up immediately when I get an email.

But not everyone is glued to their smartphone the way I am. Or perhaps you have multiple computers with multiple accounts in the house. That’s why the Sonic-connect 2 might be an intriguing alert system for you—it’s just not for my lifestyle.

Once hooked up to your computer via USB, you can use the downloadable software to customize it so the device vibrates, beeps and/or flashes (you pick) when yo...

Create A Scene For The Upcoming LEGO Movie

April 3rd, 2013 10:30am EDT
The LEGO Movie
THE ReBrick Movie Competition.

The clip will need to relate to a scene in the film “in which the citizens of the LEGO universe rally to prevent an unspeakable disaster.” So fan creators will want to dissemble elements of their environments (brick by brick of course) and rebuild them into something amazing over the course of their video.

The action can be set in any City, Space, Pirates, Western and more. Creators will need to upload the video to YouTube and bookmark it on the ReBrick.com Building Challenge page.

The top 25 videos earning the most “Likes” will then be reviewed for “crea...

RHA MA450i In-ear Headphones [REVIEW]: You’ll Be Surprised How Important a Wire’s Fabric Can Be

April 2nd, 2013 10:30am EDT
RHA MA450i
Headphones never last longer than a month with me. They’re like sunglasses—I know I’m going to beat them up over the course of the day and I’d rather not spend good money on a really good pair.

At the same point, I really, really rely on my headphones. I play games and watch shows from my TiVo regularly on my iPhone, so I need a good set. (That lasts at least a month.) I tend to buy headphones based on price, knowing that I’ll have to throw them out within a month or so after one of the ears goes dead from the insane wear and tear I put them through.

But recently, I had a chance to test t...

The Unofficial Game of Thrones Cookbook
This Sunday, Lannisters, Baratheons, Greyjoys and of course Starks, will be back in our lives.

(For those not in the know, we’re getting Game of Thrones back on our TV screens on Sunday night at 9 pm ET on HBO.)

If you’re planning to have a premiere party, perhaps you should make some food for all your guests—the kind of stuff that makes them feel like THEY’RE the King (or Queen) of Westeros.

Enter then, The Unofficial Game of Thrones Cookbook from Alan Kistler. There’s tons of recipes for meats, desserts and even ale.

A number of the recipes are inspired by A Storm of Swords, the third...
