Ultramarine Bel Air Release Date: 1995 Label: WEA Ultramarine's fourth album expands on the notion of genre-fusion ambient from United Kingdoms, this time trading in the British folk whimsy for a rather bizarre conception of lounge jazz and breakbeat. It's a difficult trick, and the duo appear to be straining themselves at times to pull it off. The result is a confused album whose subtleties grow with age, but often fail to convince.
