Ratrospective was a six-song "best of" EP containing The Boomtown Rats' only U.S. singles chart entry, "I Don't Like Mondays," "Rat Trap," which had been a UK chart topper, and other favorites. It was intended as a summing up of the group for the U.S.; Columbia Records rejected The Rats' next album, In The Long Grass, and only released it in the wake of lead singer Bob Geldof's Live Aid celebrity. In 1987, Columbia added four tracks to Ratrospective, to produce Greatest Hits. William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide Releases:
