Mtume Native Son Release Date: 1985 Label: MCA Mtume participated in the soundtrack for this poorly distributed, uneven remake of the film conceived out of the landmark novel by Richard Wright, who appeared in an earlier version. Oprah Winfrey was in the cast for this edition, but her presence didn't ensure them the widespread distribution or publicity necessary to salvage it.
