Mike Rutherford
Acting Very Strange
Release Date: 1982
Running Time: 38:43
Label: Atlantic

This album was recorded right after Genesis wrapped up their Abacab tour, and musically it bridges the gap between Abacab and Genesis' self-titled album of the following year. Unfortunately, aside from the title track and the pretty ballad "Hideaway," the songwriting is disappointing. The entire album is also marred by Rutherford's decision to tackle the lead vocals himself. There's no denying his sincerity, but he should let his fingers do the talking.
