Maxine Sullivan with the Keith Ingham Sextet
Together
Release Date: 1986 06 zz-1987 01 zz
Running Time: 47:43
Label: Atlantic

For her final studio album (the last cuts were recorded just three months before her death), the classic swing singer Maxine Sullivan interpreted 16 songs by Jule Styne dating from 1926's "Sunday" to 1983's "Killing Time." Sullivan's voice was still strong at the end of her career, and her interpretations of such numbers as "Just in Time," "It's Been a Long, Long Time," "I Don't Want to Walk Without You" and "I've Heard That Song Before" uplift the lyrics and make the tunes sound fresh and new. A fine close to a productive career. Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
