Biography:
Following the breakthrough success of INXS' 1987 album Kick, the group's charismatic frontman Michael Hutchence returned to his native Australia to form the side project Max Q with Ollie Olsen of the punk band Whirlywirld. The twosome, who first collaborated to record music for the 1986 film Dogs in Space, co-wrote and co-produced Max Q's self-titled debut album, a far more noisy and politically charged effort than Hutchence's past work in INXS. Although the singles &"Way of the World" and &"Sometimes" cracked the Aussie charts, the record nevertheless failed to garner much international attention and was the duo's sole release.
