Full Blown Possession
Release Date: 1997 09 09
Label: Sub Pop

After all the years the Grifters have been playing together, they can't help but sound like a band. That wasn't always the case, but on Full Blown Possession, they sound seasoned, sure of themselves, and much more into the task of making a concise disc. "Sweetest Thing" is an acoustic country-blues, while "Re-Entry Blues" rocks you with just the right attitude to make you want to hear it again and again. If it's true that alt-rock has gone mainstream, then the Grifters have all oars in the water and are paddling ahead at full speed. James Chrispell, All Music Guide
