Glenn Danzig
Black Aria
Release Date: 1993
Running Time: 23:45
Label: Megaforce

In an attempt to expand on the more atmospheric excursions of How the Gods Kill, Glenn Danzig composed this mostly instrumental work, which was heavily influenced by opera and classical music. While Danzig's willingness to experiment for a potentially rigid heavy metal audience is admirable, and while Black Aria does do a good job of evoking a mood of melancholy darkness, it also doesn't make much of an impression, as Danzig largely neglected to compose melodies.
