Biography:
Not only does Forrest Kyle play the sort of virtuosic post-Van Halen/Satriani instrumentals that cast a long shadow over hard rock guitar in the '80s, but he started doing it over a decade after the fact -- as a teenager. Kyle grew up in Mt. Vernon, WA, and began playing guitar at age 14; within just two years, he was able to perform Eddie Van Halen's legendary &"Eruption" solo at a school assembly and was soon playing area taverns. During his senior year of high school, Kyle began recording demos of original material, playing guitar and bass over a drum machine; remixed and overdubbed, these songs became his independently released debut CD, The Adventures of Guitar Man, which appeared in the summer of 2000. Kyle subsequently enrolled at the University of Washington to study music. Steve Huey, All Music Guide
