After penning hits for both R&B and country artists, Frazier decided to take a stab at performing his own songs for this album in 1966. The material chosen focuses on his more playful novelty numbers like "Alley Oop," "She's A Yum Yum," and "Whoop it on 'Um" and includes other hits such as the title track and "Mohair Sam." The arrangements are by-the-numbers pop R&B and while he's clearly a capable singer, his voice lacks the grit to make these songs as bluesy as he'd obviously like them to be.
