Buck Owens
Duets: Half a Buck
Release Date: 1996 03 19
Label: K-Tel Distribution

Buck Owens' Greatest Duets: Half a Buck is a 10-track compilation of Buck's personal favorite duets, including cuts he recorded with Rose Maddox, Susan Raye, Buddy Allan and Ringo Starr. Of course, the hit duets with Maddox -- "Loose Talk" and "Mental Cruelty" -- are the particular standouts, but the remaining cuts are all very good and, like in the case of Allan's "Let the World Keep on Turning," occasionally excellent. Half a Buck may be a budget-line release, but the overall quality of the material is so strong that it makes for a worthwhile release. Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
