Biography:
The lively, atmospheric pop/rock of Brittlestar is crafted by Stewart Reynolds, the band's creative force and sole permanent member. Born and raised in Ontario, Reynolds grew up listening to the melody-driven sounds of the Beatles, Elvis, and the Bay City Rollers. He launched his music career with a series of collaborations, partnering with Celtic musician Loreena McKennitt for Boy Blue, a short-lived pop duo, and later aligning himself with several key songwriters (most notably Stephen Duffy -- lead singer for the Lilac Time, original founder of Duran Duran, and co-writer for Robbie Williams' Intensive Care) for the Brittlestar project. Waiting marked the band's studio debut in 2004, and MTV cherry-picked three tracks from the album to use during episodes of The Real World. A limited-edition EP, Pirates, followed soon after, and Secrets arrived in 2006. Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide
