Artfull Dodgers Lazy Eyes Release Date: 1999 Label: Midwestern Union If nothing else, this Flint, MI, crew has one of the most inventive names in hip-hop. Artfull Dodgers have a nice sound but their lyrics simply do not connect with the diverse musical spectrum of their beats. The lyrics are just plain contrived in places and almost drown out their beats, the strength of their music. There are a couple of true saving graces on Lazy Eyes including "Love Changes" with a sample from the theme to David Lynch's Twin Peaks and "Midwest's Best," which swells with the talents of 12 nice MCs.
