US Magazine is reporting that MTV is set to recast Jersey Shore, citing the soaring cost of keeping the current stars signed on.

Each cast member reportedly hauls in $100,000 per episode of the hit series. Signing on new stars would slash the costs.

"They will leave on a high note!" A source tells the mag (Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni "J-Woww" Farley and Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio all have spin-offs in the works).

MTV has denied the claims, with a rep telling the magazine "We love the present cast, and their summer adventures have just begun. We currently have no plans to recast the show."
