A few weeks have passed, but nothing from the Gossip Girl Thanksgiving has remained in the past. Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Bart (Robert John Burke) aren't speaking after discovering secret files. Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) are still acting awkward because of Nate (Chace Crawford). And apparently, newcomer Aaron Rose (John Patrick Amedori) is still monogamous with the one and only Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).

But Aaron, being the brooding artist that he, is doesn't want to attend the prep school's Snowflake Charity Ball with Serena. Dan (Penn Badgley) and Serena have come to terms with their budding friendship, and even agree to meet up when they both attend the dance alone…that is until Aaron's ex, Lexie, comes home for the holidays. With Lexie in town, Serena wants to make sure Aaron doesn't return to his old ways and convinces him to take her to the Snowflake Ball. This, however, would leave poor Lexie home alone with no one to hang out with. So, Dan has the grand idea to take Lexie and make it a double date evening. Of course, this isn't so much fun when Serena finds out just how "fun" Lexie can be. Aaron informs Serena that Lexie likes to have sex on the first date, which prompts Serena to take her relationship with Aaron to the next level. Later, at the ball, Lexie informs Dan that Serena "green lighted" Aaron for the evening. Can anyone say awkward? Regardless, Serena and Dan share a moment at the ball. They are dancing happily, until the subject of sex is broached. Who talks about sex with their exes anyway? The conversation (obviously) ends badly, and Serena walks away upset with Dan.

Meanwhile, Jenny is trying to figure out her place in society. All her dresses may have been burned in a trashcan, but the real problem is Nate didn't call. Jenny tries to confide in her good friend Vanessa about her boy troubles, but Vanessa has been secretly seeing Nate, unbeknownst to Jenny. She also doesn't know about the letter that Vanessa stole from her, in which Nate declared his true feelings. In Gossip Girl land nothing is a secret for long. As usual, someone snapped a photo of Nate and Vanessa kissing and Jenny saw.

One of Blair's (Leighton Meester) minions, Penelope (Amanda Setton) had eyes for Nate too. She wanted Jenny to make her a dress so she could stand out from everyone else. But, when they both discovered the news that Vanessa would be attending the Snowflake Ball with Nate, the plotting began. One of the other girls had bought a very see through dress. Saving her from public humiliation, Penelope ordered Jenny to give Vanessa the dress. Jenny, rightfully angry for stealing her man (and her mail, that's a federal offense!) she gave Vanessa the dress under the false pretense of a peace offering. Once at the ball, Vanessa decided that she needed to end things with Nate and come clean about the letter. After revealing the truth, she revealed it all when a spot light shined down on her. Jenny felt extremely guilty, and tried to help Vanessa, but it was too late. She had her own wardrobe malfunction in front of high society.

Nate, on the other hand, saw that Jenny was it cahoots with the other girls and told her he was appalled at such behavior. Nate ran after Vanessa and told her he still wanted to be with her.

While Nate and Vanessa may have gotten a happy ending (for now), others weren't so lucky. Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair were having a battle to find each other the perfect date to the Snowflake Ball. Of course, there were bets involved, such as Blair's maid Dorota (Zuzanna Szadkowski), and Chuck's limo. When the two brought out fake versions of each other, it was no wonder that the faux Blair and the faux Chuck immediately hit it off. That only left Chuck and Blair to share a dance, reluctant to share any other form of real commitment.

Chuck's father, Bart, was also lacking in the commitment department. He promised Lily that he wouldn't spy on her and the children anymore. Unfortunately, Lily had reason to believe otherwise and went to the ball in search of Rufus (Matthew Settle). Chuck called his father to alert him of this unfortunate development, but Bart was already with the private investigator he supposedly fired.

Nate and Vanessa were the only couple we saw actually leaving the ball, and the episode ended with a dramatic "accident," not boding well for Bart. Lily's panic disrupted both Dan and Serena's potential nights as well as Chuck and Blair. If you want to know what happened to Mr. Bass, you should look in the TV Guide archives -- they predicted Bart's death long ago.

What do you think happened?
