I was disappointed with the movie. I grew up with Kirk, Spock and co and was seriously looking forward to this but it was pretty poor effort. The faction segments were brilliant but the plotlines leading up to Kirk assuming command of enterprise were disjointed and might have been cobbled together by a primary school student.. For me, this reduced what could have been a great movie to a brainless popcorner.
Fantastic movie. Especially the way Spock destroyed the bad guy with his own red-matter weapon. Let's see how that big space ship survives a black hole eh! I hop this leads not only to more movies, but also to a new TV series.
I thought it was pretty good.Great to that William Shatner got left out. I here he was upset that he didn't get a cameo and Leonard Nimoy did too bad Mr Shatner that is showbiz like he told some Trekkies to get a life. I think its about time he took a dose of his own medicine.
Superb. "Star Trek" is a ballsy, gritty, intense, tireless, addictive film that doesn't let up until the very end. Spock (Zachary Quinto), James T. Kirk (Chris Pine), "Bones" (Karl Urban), and Scotty (Simon Pegg), shine brightly in this highly-anticipated movie. Their performances are top-notch. "Star Trek" is one of those rare movies that mixes heart-stopping action and humor very well. J.J. Abrams made a film that both hardcore fans and newbies will enjoy immensely.
