Spring Break Shark Attack Review:
Leave it to CBS to deliver such an ingenious idea of pitting spring-break teens against sharks to form this desperate stab at movie-of-the-week entertainment. To its credit, there's plenty of fun to be had with Spring Break Shark Attack -- unfortunately, most of it comes at the end of the flick. The majority of this TV movie is filled with teen dramatics that span from roofies to no-good, cheating mates who'd rather film Girls Gone Wild videos than hit the party town with their bikini-clad lovey-dovey from back home. By the time the sharks show up in full, the flick kicks into welcoming overdriven stupidity as the fin population explodes while the teen populace tail-dives into the bloody ocean. Thankfully, the filmmakers were able to spring for at least one fake shark that is used for all the money shots, including the windsurfer dude who skis directly into an open-mouthed killer-shark dummy. Hilarious simply to see the multitudes of fins that couldn't possibly be passing each other that closely, Spring Break Shark Attack is escapist fun that would have benefited from a bit more sex and blood, though it deserves kudos for even being greenlit to show on network TV in the first place.
