Miley Cyrus won't be able to top last year's controversial appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards because she's not performing. The Official Miley Team announced on Twitter on Wednesday that the star will definitely be attending the event:

Last summer, her headline-inducing performance with Robin Thicke polarized fans. Many were shocked after she gyrated her backside against the singer during a memorable duet of "Blurred Lines."

This year's performers will include Beyonce, who has eight nominations, Taylor Swift, who just released her new single, "Shake It Off," and Iggy Azalea.

Nicki Minaj will be performing "Anaconda." Her music video is quite racy and features a lot of focus on her rearend.

The 2014 MTV VMAs will air Sunday, Aug. 24.
