Michael Morris Exits TV Project Following Kissing Scandal With Katharine McPhee
After married director Michael Morris was photographed kissing actress Katharine McPhee, he decided to drop out of directing an upcoming TV pilot.
Earlier this week, the "Smash" director got intimate with his former leading lady in Los Angeles, reportedly prompting his wife of 10 years, actress Mary McCormack, to kick him out. They have three daughters together.
The cheating scandal has apparently effected his professional life as well as his personal one. He was scheduled to direct "Songbyrd" with his "Smash" executive producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. The series will be loosely based on singer Diane Warren's life.
McPhee, meanwhile, has been separated from her husband for six months. A source told US Magazine: "She is so embarrassed she was caught. She should have known better!"
